Sydney Harbour Bot Hire FAQs

Rockfish private catamaran hire on Sydney Harbour is priced per charter, not per person, so the more guests you bring the cheaper it gets per head. Your rate includes the skipper, deckhand, wharf fees, BYO fees and fuel. Live pricing and availability are on our booking page — book direct with code BOOKDIRECT and save $150.

Rockfish III on Sydney Harbour carries up to 43 guests. Any entertainers, DJs or photographers you bring count toward that number. Both boats have plenty of undercover space, a gas BBQ, Bluetooth speakers and onboard toilets.

Yes — Rockfish is fully BYO with no corkage or BYO fees. Bring your own food and drinks, or add our $25 per person BBQ package or cheese platter. There’s a gas BBQ on board and the crew will happily help you cook. Cans are easiest on the water, but wine and champagne are fine.

Our main pickup is King Street Wharf in Darling Harbour, a short walk from Wynyard Station with Secure Parking on Shelley Street. We can also pick up from Woolloomooloo, Rose Bay or Double Bay. Extra wharf pickups can be pre-booked for $65 per wharf.

A standard Rockfish cruise is 4 hours, which is enough time to cruise past the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, drop anchor at a harbour beach like Athol Bay for a swim, and cruise back. Longer cruises are available for an extra fee. Bucks parties are capped at 3 hours.

We still sail in the rain —our catamarans have large undercover areas so nobody gets wet. We only reschedule if the skipper decides conditions are unsafe, in which case we’ll work with you to find a new date rather than cancel.

Absolutely — that’s most of what we do. Rockfish hosts birthday cruises, hens and bucks parties, Christmas parties and corporate events on Sydney Harbour. You get the whole boat to yourselves, BYO everything, and a skipper and deckhand who’ve done hundreds of these.

Check live availability on our booking page, pick your date and time, and pay a $500 deposit by card to lock it in. The balance is due 14 days before you sail. Booking within two weeks? Full payment is required at the time of booking — or call us on (02) 9211 7900 for last-minute dates.
